Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

April 28, 2016

Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a handful of things that will save you some problems and keep you comfortable in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Cottonwood & Prescott and the last thing you want is to find out is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Inspect Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost each and every single of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often overlooked. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more work on the system which decreases the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are another piece of the puzzle that is often forgotten as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to reduce its efficiency.
  3. Schedule Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we enter the picture to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up prolongs the life of your system and keeps it working at optimal efficiency. Spring is the best time to arrange your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with the entirety of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to ensure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to schedule your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 928-251-4327.
